NISSAN 46237-A4600 Brake Hose Sealing Washer

Genuine Nissan (OEM: 46237-A4600) brake hose sealing washer (factory designation: SEAL-OIL). This premium quality genuine OEM part plays a vital role in the safe, leak-free operation of the vehicle's hydraulic brake system.

Function and Operating Principle

The brake hose sealing washer is designed to seal the connection points between the brake lines/hoses and the brake caliper, wheel cylinder, or master cylinder. When tightening the fastening bolt, the washer deforms (crushes) in a controlled manner, filling even the smallest imperfections between the mating metal surfaces. This plastic deformation ensures a complete, reliable seal even under the extremely high hydraulic pressures present within the brake system.

Technical Specifications

• Manufacturer: NISSAN (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
• Part Number: 46237-A4600
• Part Type: Brake hose sealing washer / sealing ring
• Material: High-purity, corrosion-resistant, and malleable sealing metal alloy that resists the chemical effects of brake fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5.1).
• Application: High-pressure connections in hydraulic brake systems.

Maintenance and Replacement Information

Brake hose sealing washers are single-use components. Whenever the brake hydraulic circuit is opened (e.g., brake hose replacement, brake caliper removal, or overhaul), replacing the used washers with new ones is mandatory. A washer that has already been compressed cannot guarantee a leak-free seal if reused.

Signs of Failure or Wear

• Brake fluid leakage or weeping around brake hose connections.
• Steady decrease in brake fluid level in the expansion reservoir.
• Spongy or soft brake pedal feel caused by pressure loss.
• Decreased braking efficiency during emergency braking.
